Here are four ways LeadingLDS hopes to enhance the leadership skills of its listeners and readers:
1. Share and gather the best ideas of leadership related to the mission of the Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-day Saints.
2. Pinpoint secular leadership research and training resources that have proven to enhance tactics of human motivation, teaching, public speaking, communication, and personal development.
Volumes of truth have been discovered in secular studies that have improved leadership skills in other arenas. Discussing these truths as they relate to problems LDS leaders face have the potential to improve personal leadership skills in the LDS context.
There are also many training programs and resources that have heightened leadership ability across the world. It is part of LeadingLDS’s mission to make these resources available to volunteer leaders at no cost.
While seeking after truth in secular research and training, LeadingLDS recognizes the highest level of leadership development is found in the understanding and application of the doctrines of Jesus Christ.
3. Celebrate the importance of governing priesthood keys, spiritual inspiration, and living prophets that are sacred sources of divine leadership.
Any solution discussed on LeadingLDS, whether from secular research or personal experience, is not meant to supersede prompting from the Holy Ghost or direction from general authorities representing the LDS Church. Tactics and opinions found on LeadingLDS are meant to help a leader effectively implement impressions from the Holy Ghost.
4. Create a respectful relationship between the LDS Church and LeadingLDS as an independent resource to enhancing leadership ability and in the long run further establish the Kingdom of God on the earth.
In short, LeadingLDS is striving to enhance better leadership skills in the LDS Church, or any other volunteer organization, in order to more effectively build the Kingdom of God on the earth.
